Galactic Warzone is a multiplayer space trading strategy door game for bulletin board systems modeled after TradeWars.

Galactic Warzone was developed by Scott Baker, beginning in the late 1980s while he was in high school. The final version, v7.6, was released in August 1990. Baker has said he didn't do a good job marketing the game, but it was popular enough that he received a few thousand dollars in donations.

Reception

In 1992, a reviewer for Challenge magazine gave Galactic Warzone high scores for complexity, devotion required, and player interaction, saying it would take months of playing for a player to "fully realize the depth of the strategy woven throughout this game." The reviewer noted the game's similarities with TradeWars 2002, but said TW2002 was "by far the most polished of the two."[1]
